ReWilding for Beginners; Henley Soft Bait Clinic

Fish were biting when more than 70 anglers turned up at Henley for the Otago Fish and Game Council soft bait clinic with Lance Gill from Okuma.
Anita van Niekerk was a happy angler catching her first perch at the Taieri River last week at the Henley Soft Bait Clinic.

Anglers learned tactics for targeting trout, salmon and perch, with plenty of tips on rods, reels, lines, soft baits, jig heads, casting and retrieving. Attendees put their skills to the test in the Taieri River, hooking kahawai, perch and brown trout. It goes to show with a bit of knowledge and simple gear, how effective soft bait fishing can be.
We’re encouraging people get into nature, reconnect and ReWild themselves!
